The "Design Cork meets Science and Industry" Seminar is an event promoted by the consortium APCOR (Portuguese Cork Association), SUSDESIGN and Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands), with the high level support of the Portuguese Ministry for Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lisbon.
The Seminar is a scientific event with the goal to create and discuss subjects related with the new areas of technological and scientific innovation focus on the development of new content and methodologies of innovation with relevance to the national cork sector.
Several national and international speakers from relevant scientific institutions, as MIT - Massuchets Institute of Technology, Delft University of Technology,
Instituto Superior Técnico and Minho University, in between other institutions, have been invited to present a reflection on these subjects and to come with new concepts and ideas for the future.
This seminar is one of the many initiatives of the project "Design Cork for future, innovation and sustainability" that explores the vast potential of cork in design with a view to developing innovative solutions. This project is promoted by SUSDESIGN and supported by the Ministry of Culture's Arts Institute, with the support of companies GRANORTE, Amorim Revestimentos, Amorim Industrial Solutions and Corticeira Amorim in partnership with the Delft University of Technology, APCOR (Portuguese Cork Association) and INETI (National Institute of Industrial Engineering and Technology).
